MEL’S PLAYBOOK / SIMULATION LAB
Sports matchup simulator
THE SLATE
Find your matchup
Any whole number from 100 to 1,000,000. Applies to individual cards and “Simulate all.” Runs on the Mel’s Playbook engine; you can stop them at any time.
YOUR RECENT WORK
Recent simulations
Verified accounts can back up saved predictions. Check the status under My metrics. Clearing recent activity keeps your accuracy ledger.
PLAYER PROPS
Player props
Every game on the date you picked under Matchups, from the original Mel’s Playbook player models. Use “Hits at least” to find the lines the simulations clear most often.
YOUR TRACK RECORD
Your saved prediction results
Your first pregame prediction for each exact model configuration is kept for grading. Running a game again does not replace that prediction.
Local history is available on this device.
NFL and college football settings can be submitted for review. We evaluate candidates on future games before changing defaults.
Your track record starts before kickoff.
Simulate an upcoming game to save a prediction. Return after the final and select “Check for final results.” Games already in progress are exploration only.

How to read your metrics
Winner accuracy measures correct winners among decided games; tied finals are reported separately, except soccer where a draw is a predicted outcome. Brier score measures probability error; lower is better. Football uses binary home-win error (0 to 1). Soccer uses all three outcomes (0 to 2), so compare configurations within the same league. Margin and total errors show average distance from the final score in points.
These are personal browser records, not independently audited results. Up to 2,000 pregame predictions and 50 recent runs are saved for this account on this device; verified accounts can sync these records between devices. Check the backup status before clearing browser data. Tuning based on past results needs testing on new games before we adopt it in the default model.
Older history from before accounts was not separated by account. It remains untouched in this browser, but is not automatically assigned to an account or included in this new accuracy ledger.
